So, after all the buzz surrounding the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, it’s time to dive into some early benchmark tests. Our buddy NL Tech dropped a cool video breaking down the performance of all three Galaxy S24 models in the top benchmarking apps—Geekbench 6, AnTuTu, and 3DMark. The S24 and S24+ are packing the Exynos 2400 chip, while the S24 Ultra is flexing a slightly tuned-up “for Galaxy” version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Keep in mind, though, that these phones are still rocking pre-release firmware, so the scores might not be exactly what you’ll get with the consumer-ready versions. Nevertheless, it gives us a good peek into what the new Samsung chipset can do and how it stands up against Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

In the Geekbench 6 CPU test, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 takes a tiny lead in both single-core and multi-core scores. The difference in single-core performance is basically nothing, but the multi-core score shows a slight advantage for the Qualcomm chip. Things get interesting in the GPU test, where both the S24 and S24+ with Exynos 2400 outshine the S24 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Now, let’s talk AnTuTu. The tests show a win for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 inside the S24 Ultra, but the gap between the two chips is pretty narrow.

Moving on to the 3D Mark Solar Bay stress test, which throws in some ray tracing action. Here, the Exynos-powered S24 and S24+ take the crown, thanks to their AMD RDNA 3-based Xclipse 940 GPU. Plus, the Samsung-made chip handles the heat a tad better.

The S24 Ultra manages a tiny victory in the Wild Life Extreme test, even though the Exynos devices run the tests with better stability.

Of course, once we have the new series in our hands, we’ll run the full set of tests and keep you posted on that. So, stay tuned!
